We have 4 courses coming up next month.

Foundations of Community Engagement course with Shannyn Palmer is designed to prompt thinking about why community engagement is important and to begin to develop a practical understanding of how to engage with people and communities in ethical, meaningful, and empowering ways. This is a topic we often talk about in our Decolonizing Museums in Practice, Creating Exhibitions Through the Collective, and Cultural Competency courses so if you have taken any of those this might be a good next course for you. Policies for Managing Collections with John Simmons will help you learn how to write collections management policies for your own institution and how to evaluate the effectiveness of your policies. We already have a good group signed up for this course from a variety of institutions so the discussions should be fun. Creating Virtual Learning Opportunities in Museums with Hillary Hanel Rose will cover creating both synchronous and asynchronous programs, connecting with teachers, and some technical skills to ensure that you can support teachers and students virtually as they learn from you and your museum. If you have taken our Writing K-12 Lesson Plans for Museums and are interested in turning the plan you wrote then or another existing program into a virtual program then this is a good next course. Integrated Pest Management: The Plan and Implementation with Gretchen Anderson. If you are familiar with Integrated Pest Management (maybe even took the Intro course with Gretchen) and have been using it, but you never got around to writing a plan to carry it out this is the course for you.
