For anyone who has taken our Decolonizing Museums in Practice, Cultural Competency, or Creating Exhibitions Through the Collective courses you know how important it is to have good relationships with your community. That is why we asked Shannyn Palmer to create Foundations of Community Engagement. Even if you haven't taken one of those courses Community Engagement is vital to the sustainability of cultural institutions. Join us in April for this important new course.

Do you have good relationships with all the groups you serve in your community?
This course is designed to prompt thinking about why community engagement is important and to begin to develop a practical understanding of how to engage with people and communities in ethical, meaningful, and empowering ways. It draws from leading thought in community engaged practice to provide the necessary concepts, information, and practical tools to begin developing an approach to effective and meaningful community engagement.
